Emotional Intelligence is a person’s capacity to understand and control their emotions, and recognise and manage those of others so they, and others around them, can be as effective and productive as possible.
EI is important in the work environment as behaviour, and emotional competence, has a large part to play in an individual’s performance.
 
The questionnaire is an accurate and objective way to measure emotional competences in the work context.
It is underpinned by a leading International research programme led by Dr K V Petrides at the Institute of Education, University of London.  The current version of this instrument has been developed by Dr K V Petrides and Professor Adrian Furnham, University College London.

The questionnaire is comprised of 153 questions.  For each question there are seven possible responses, ranging from 1 = Disagree Strongly to 7 = Agree Strongly.

It should take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.
 
There are no right or wrong answers, no bad scores, simply facets of emotion that may or may not be relevant to a job role.
 
You must work quickly and intuitively – do not think too long about the exact meaning of the statements.
