TI History in Southern Hemisphere
The Thomas Management instruments resulted from work carried out by Dr William Marston, Professor of Psychology at Columbia and New York Universities, who published the book "Emotions of Normal People" in 1928. In 1944 Dr Thomas Hendrickson refined Prof Marston's work and adapted and developed the PPA and HJA to meet the requirements of commerce and industry.
In the early 1960’s, he founded Thomas International, which has grown to become a leading provider of psychometric tools developed specifically to support human management strategies in the commercial sector. The current system is continually assessed, updated and validated to ensure its compatibility with the ever-changing needs of modern commercial and industrial enterprises.
Thomas International Management Systems was first registered in South Africa in 1986, as a specialist Human Capital Development consultancy within the Renwick Group. The South African corporation established offices in all the major cities in South Africa to provide a national and international network.
The master licence holder (JCS Human Dynamics Pty Ltd) for Africa, Asia and the Pacific countries expanded Thomas International since the late 1990’s into African countries and throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The South African operation is responsible for 15 International offices, controlled from Pretoria.
Today the CEO and owner of Thomas International (Africa and Asia Pacific), Chris Schutte, is supported by Thomas International’s competent management team, professional consultants and experienced support staff. We continue to supply our clients with international proven HR assessment technology with passion and commitment.
